People And The Creatures Of Earth

We, the people of planet earth,
Must make a promise.
This promise has to do with
We, the people,
The creatures,
Our future
And our surroundings.
And we must promise
To keep the earth
Clean and green
For as long as we can
So we can always have
A good environment
And also a good future.

Abby, Our Pup

Abby
Is
Our pup
You see.
She sniffs
Around the
Backyard
Trees.
She sits
And stays
And comes
To me.
Abby.
Abby,
Our pup.

The Phone

It rings when you
Least expect it
It rings when you
Think you're just getting comfortable.
It rings when you're
Eating your favorite meal of the day:
Supper.
And the trouble is
Most of the time it's someone
That's trying to convince you to buy
Some so-called really great thing
...That they bought at a yard sale
And are just trying to get rid of.
So, you just gotta say:
"Sorry, I'm not interested,"
And hang up
The phone.

Thing-a-ma-jigs

Thing-a-ma-jigs
Are things
Like little bits
Of strings
That bend
And when you drop
Them on the floor
They crumble and
Break...
...Like a
Corn Flake.

The Person That's Closest To Me

The person that's closest to me
I was born with her, you see.
And when I have a problem she
Is usually there for me.
We can hardly stand to be apart
Especially if it's somewhere far away
But if you really want to know...
Who is she?
She is my identical twin sister,
Tara Marie.

I'll Always Be Thinking Of You

It was so sad to see you go
I love you and miss you so
I hope you'll return to
Minnesota someday.
You went away from Minnesota
You went away from me
To move to hot old Texas
And stay and stay and stay.
The move came so
Suddenly
That I really don't
Know what to say
Except that I just want
To let you know
That I still miss you so...
And I'll never stop loving you.

Super Mom

Hey, look!
I see
Super-Mom!
There she goes
With a big basket
Of clothes
Movin' her feet
To this
Really funky beat.
She has reached the
Clothesline,
Hangin' clothes
Out to dry.
At the same time,
Trying to tend
To the pumpkin pie!
She works at the deli
With her friends,
Sometimes it seems
As though her work
Never ends!
And when she gets
Home,
Any chance she
Gets,
She lies down
On the couch to
Take a rest!
That's my mom.
She's a
Super-Mom!

The Man of the House

The man of the house
Is sometimes like
A lovely spring day.
Yet other times
He erupts
Like a volcano
That's overflowing
With boiling
Hot lava.
His hair is
Pitch black,
Like a
Dark and gloomy
Halloween night
With no ending.
Although his
Eyes are brown,
And sometimes,
When you look
Into them,
They are sweet
Like a
Fudge-covered
Brownie.
He is very
Caring
Like my grandma,
And loving
Like me!

Tigger, My Cat

When I look at
Tigger
I see
A body of
Black fur,
Four legs,
Green eyes
And two
Pointy ears.
What I hear
When I listen
To Tigger:
Scratching,
Meowing,
Purring,
Hissing
And playing.
What does
Tigger
Smell like?
A litter box.
If I were to
Eat Tigger,
What would he
Taste like?
Furry,
Bony,
Gutsy,
It wouldn't
Taste too
Pleasant.
When I touch
Tigger,
He feels
Soft
And
Furry.

I Live in the City Of

I live in the city of
Afternoons
Speaking the language of
Yesterday
Forgotten by
Sunlight
Lost for years among
The sky
