The Child Inside

The child inside is what I see
When I look at you
Excitement hides behind your eyes
While searching for the truth
The fire lies untold inside
Your servant’s heart
Only God now can ignite
In you a holy spark
Intimacy is my prayer
That you may grow in Him
And know that this fire
Is only just a glimpse
The plan to prosper not destroy
Is bigger than words on a page
It’s more than that and it applies
To you at every stage
The closer you walk
The greater the blaze
To start a revolution
A sanctified chase
Worthy and lovable
You can stand tall
And know in your heart
That you’ll follow His call
Someday the innocence
Will be personified
Then we’ll all see
